A ton has happened to our little family in the last month. We moved to California in August, have been in our house almost two weeks and we're in a never ending state of unpacking. Eli started school three days after we got here and Hudson started a preschool co-op last week. Maggie just had her first birthday on the ten year anniversary of 9/11. She's everything I thought a girl should be and more. I don't think I'll ever get use to screaming as a reflection of joy. I always come running to see what's wrong, but no, nothing's wrong she's just happy. I just got my sew room/nook set up and am ready to get sewing for sanity. I got online to find a project. I found one and more. I came across a website called crafthope.com . They have a new project every so often where they make something to give back. Right now they're doing a stocking drive, where they are collecting handmade stockings to give to the tornado surrivers and families. It has to be done September 23. I know I'm joining late in the game but am super excited. I always see these horri le things that people go through and feel so blessed, always wishing I could do something for them. I feel like this is my way to give back using my talents to create something for someone else. Next sewing project... Stockings!

Maggie's Dress

This picture is a little fuzzy, I'm not a photographer... But my sister is
wink, wink, hint, hint. She's really good.

Okay, so my friend Taron has the cutest twin girls. They're 2 1/2 and the best of friends. Last Sunday the were wearing matching dresses that were so adorable. She said she made them. Oh great, I thought not another thing I have to make. We all know deep down in side I was screaming for joy. I love new projects. After the dresses haunted me for nights, I decided it was time to make one. It took me about 2 hours to make once I sat down and started cutting. Not sure if the dress is cute or just the crying baby.
I couldn't get her to smile or even stop crying so I could take pictures. Me being the smart mom that I am, decided to give her a sucker. Why not every kids loves a sucker.

I didn't think about the sticky mess after it went into her mouth. Yuck. So much for my beautiful little dress I made her. It came off her the minute I finished pictures and into the bath she went. We might wait until shes a bit older before we try the sugar thing again. Me and sticky messes don't mesh well. I also made her hair band that she wont keep on. I only put flowers and hair thing on her when we go to church and it only last to the sacrament and then off the go.
The pattern is on Sewing In No Mans Land. It has lots of cute things that I can make Maggie. I have already been plotting out my next project. AFTER the move. Two weeks and counting.

Big News for the Hulets

We found out a couple of weeks ago that we're moving. Just after a little over of year here in New Mexico. It's very bitter sweet. I find it takes a good year to get use to a place and feel like it's your home. Right when I'm feeling like I've got my life settled, we're moving. On the flip side, hurraaaay for the beach! I can't wait for the possibility of going somewhere... any where. Alamagordo is a small town with nothing really very close by and not much to do. The nearest water is Elephant Butte 6 hours away. I haven't told my kids about Disney Land, Lego Land, SeaWorld or the beach. I feel like a little kid cause I'm excitied to go. Oh, how I hate to move. I don't want to leave my friends that I've finally made and my wonderful house that I wish could come with us. See my ever growing struggle. I haven't started packing a thing, I'm still in denial of the whole thing. We're leaving August 15th, in about a month. I know I should buckle down and get this house packed but no matter what I tell myself I just can't make myself do it. We're going out of town this weekend for a family reunion and then it's crunch time. I have to stop thinking about this I'm getting overwhelmed and sort of depressed. I'm done. We're moving to California, Edwards AFB, that's our big news.

I wanted to share some pictures since it’s been a while. I took a very brief trip to Utah over Easter and stopped during our 14 ½ hour drive to let the kids have a break. We always drive through Moab so, on the way home I thought “why don’t we go for a hike.” The boys had a great time and Maggie is still impartial to what I make her do.

Monster Pillow Bag

I made this cute monster pillow bag off the moda bake shop website. One of my favorite places to waste time. I modified it a bit for a girl. We gave it to a little girl name Hunter for her birthday and filled it with a book, coloring book and some candy. Hudson wanted to keep it but I told him I'd make one that's for a boy. He was okay giving it away. Couldn't blame the poor kid I want one for myself too. Not the greatest picture but it was a last minute thought as we were driving to the party.

Maggie's Blessing

My wonderful sister, Meili, FINALLY posted pictures from Maggies blessing in Utah (slacker). She's super busy being a single mom and working so I shouldn't give her grief. They are amazing pictures. I'm just glad she takes them for me cause I LOVE them. If you want to see some pics of my family, mostly Mags go to www.meiliware.blogspot.com . Thanks Meili. Loves.

We had a little snow storm here in NM, the whole town shut down. Water pipes broke, there was a gas shortage and some peoples power went out. It's amazing what 6 inches of snow can do to a town. We were lucky and just had a heat issue in the house but nothing socks and jackets couldn't handle. Robb was off work for the whole week, the base was shut down. When Robb's home, things are so much harder. I think since he's off work so am I. I forget that I never leave work so even if he is home the Work Must Go On! I had to grip my sanity, so I made this one night while we were watching a movie.
I used all my scraps left over from Maggie's quilt. I plan to frame it and hang it in her room. I got the idea from cluck cluck sew. She's made hers into a pillow and it's stinking cute. Everyone should make one. So easy.
Robb and I had our 7th year anniversary, we finally bought a love sac, really a cozy sac. We've always wanted one since our friends had one in Alaska and we loved it. Lets face it, we're just grown up little kids. I love it, Robb is still debating. It's huge, an 8 footer. It's almost bigger than our couch. Happy anniversary to us. We would rather buy things than go on a date. Yes, I know, we're party poopers. I admire those who date their spouse. Robb and I like to be with our kids to much. We would rather take the kids somewhere with us than leave them. They're only little once so we're enjoying every minute of it. My Maggie is already 5 months old and sitting up, where did the time go?

My wonderful hubby is learning to juggle work, daddy, hubby, school and now being part of the bishopric. He was called to be the second counselor in our ward. A high priest at 30. I always tell him he's an old man. I think he's doing a good job at all his responsibilities. He even keeps up with his chores at home. There are good weeks and some exhausting ones too.

I subbed in RS a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Not so much the teaching but more just the learning about the topic and finding other things about it through others bloggs. Everyone needs to read a blogg I found about a girl who created a mantra of "cleaning toilets for Jesus." I would put a link to these things but someone needs to show me how first, sorry.

The weather is getting warmer and warmer. I think I even got a little sun on my legs the other day while we were at the park. I can't wait for the pool and the constant out door adventurous. Last summer before Eli goes to school :( Is it wrong to not want him to go? I do and I don't.

We're already started the endless eating of possicks (Hudson's way to say Popsicles) I think that's all he'd eat if I let him. The Boys have been playing the wii with their dad and the remote is a permanent fixture in Hudson's hand.

Now that I have a Maggie Magpie, I find something new I want to make everyday. The list just keeps getting longer. Haha, I'll never finish it all.
