You know when you have those moments when you think wow I'm really not a good mom right now even though what has happened shows no reflection of your mothering skill. Well we had one of those days on Monday.
We had planned to go for a bike ride all day but we didn't end up leaving until about 5:30pm and decided to go on the Cambell Airstrip trail which is a dirt/rock trail. Eli was doing great and we were having a great time. We were on our way back to the car when Mychel rode up ahead with Hudson on the back of my bike. Was just turning around when I lost balance and fell. Its not that easy moving a bike that has an extra 35 lbs on the back.
Needless to say Hudson went down with me. We thought at first that maybe his little hand just got smashed a bit or that it just scared him. Oh, but no. I, me, the mom broke his arm. We went straight to the hospital where we waited on Labor day weekend for 3 hours. We were finally done at 1:00 am making the grand total a 4 1/2 hour ER visit. He broke both bones in his forarm but they didn't have to set them so thats good.
Bad mother of the year award! He slept the whole time they put the splint on. He gets to have a cast on come Thursday morning.
You would think we would be like this most of the time. But this is Hudson who is my happy sweet easy going boy who complains only when he can't hold the food with both hands. So this is how he still lives his life with a broken arm.
